Well, if you haven't noticed, I have been somewhat missing from DA of late. Went on a holiday for a few weeks, one of those weeks was getting down and dirty with the release of aion I waited 3 years for this game, I'm allowed to take a week off to play it. xD

Other than that I have been trying to fix my computer (yay for hack job remedies) and doing some freelance... which hopefully I can show in the next few months.

Unearthly Challenge has started and I am totally pumped to do something. even if I don't finish in time I need to finish so that I can have it as a centre piece for my folio.
The theme for this year is "End Game"

Originally I was planning on making a scene where there is a tower that sits on a floating iceberg... but then decided that would be too technical. So I thought about some really cool scenes that I have seen in a few of my favourite games. Instantly I thought of the Ridorana Cataract. If anyone has played FFXII they will know what a cool place that was, especially the opening cut scene. Basically its a tower on the edge of the world, where the water slowly cascades off into the oblivion.

So that's when I thought up an idea about a temple dedicated to the sun, and wrote a small (and terribly written) story about the temple.

"Long ago the world was a dark and foreboding place. The land, cast in darkness was overrun with terror. The Shadow Lord ruled the land. His demons and shadow beasts terrorised the lands and its people, keeping them in constant fear and slavery.
The people prayed for salvation, for release and for revenge.

A lost God named Rahn thrown from his destroyed world, wandered the dark wastes in agony and sadness. Rahn had failed his world and let the darkness destroy and consume it. As he wandered he heard the crys for help and followed them to the world void of light and ruled by darkness. Determined not to let another world be taken into the maws of the shadow, Rahn defeated the Shadow lord in a great battle by sacrificing his heart and turning it into a Bird of fire, called the Sun. A Bird with flames so bright that it illuminated the whole world, and banished the shadows from the land.

The people and world were saved and Rahn was pleased, yet the Sun could not burn forever. He knew this and with the last of his strength, created a Temple at the Edge of the World, a holy place that would resurrect the Sun anew from its ashes.
The soul of the shadow lord was transformed into the Moon and was created to carry the Sun back across the world during the night, and place the Sun into the temple to be resurrected and start a new day.

But the shadow still lurks when Sun is making it journey back to the Temple. A disciple of the Shadow lord plans to destroy the Temple of the Rising Sun forever and bathe the world in shadow once more. Here is where you meet your final fight, to destroy the shadow disciple and stop the destruction of the temple and all hope for the future.

This is your End Game. "
